The GAP Features Hijab in Their 2017 Campaign – #CloseTheGAP #BoycottGAP

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is what we’ve come to. Major corporations are kissing Muslim ass to get their dollars! Gap is welcoming the season by celebrating diversity, with a hijabi. The American clothing retailer launched its new summer collection with a video featuring Americans from around the country, one of whom is a hijabi.

“Along the way we met truly amazing people (like you). Brave and loving, funny and powerful, complex and strong, YOU ARE GAP!”
Gap joins other companies like Coke, Microsoft, H&M, and Honey Maid to name a few, who are featuring Muslim women wearing hijab in their commercials and showing their audience that they are only in it for the money, screw our culture.
“When Gap reached out to us about featuring one of our hijabs in their campaign, we were thrilled! It’s finally out, and we could not be more excited about the finished piece!” the Haute Hijab staff wrote in a blog post.
This needs to go viral, share it with the #CloseTheGap and #BoyCottGAP tags. Let’s hit them where they really care, their GD bank account! This garbage is going too far. They don’t give a flying f##k about Muslims, it’s just brand capitalizing on current affairs and a big corporation tapping into the American Muslim demographic to make more money.

The campaign is titled, “I Am GAP, Portrait of an American Summer”, and it features a [Haute] Hijabi! Given today’s political and social climate, Gap makes a bold statement with this video. The campaign acknowledges diversity and is yet another commercial that brings hijab into the mainstream!

GAP’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity is nothing new. They dedicate a page on their website to break down everything they are doing as a company to foster inclusion. They state, “Diversity unlocks our innovation, helps attract and retain talent, and builds connections with our customers.” We couldn’t agree more.

In 2013, Gap featured a Sikh model in their holiday #MakeLove campaign, and when the ad was defamed, Gap responded with a message of solidarity and even changed their Twitter background to the picture of Ahluwalia (the Sikh model). Most recently, they made strides towards inclusivity by showing children that different is beautiful with their latest 11-year-old model, April, who has a skin condition called Vitiligo. April is featured in a video on Gap’s Facebook page saying,”Confidence is courage.” That’s a powerful message to send to young children.

Hybutalla, who was featured in the campaign. It is important for people to see relatable role models and models in the mainstream media. Diversity needs to be acknowledged and celebrated. While there is no doubt a lack of diversity in the fashion industry, things are slowly beginning to change. Gap joins other companies like Coke, Microsoft, H&M, and Honey Maid to name a few, who are featuring Muslim women wearing hijab in their commercials and showing their audience that the hijab is beautiful, it is normal, and it is here to stay.

In surah Tawbah, Allah (S) says, “the believers, men and women, are protectors of one another: they enjoin what is just and forbid what is evil…” (9:71).

At all times, and most particularly in times of trials and tribulations, it is the duty of Muslims to stand together helping and supporting one another. Allah has decreed that Muslims should form a tight-knit community or ummah that loves and cares for one another. The Prophet (S) taught that the ummah should act like a body: if one part of the body suffers pain, the other part also suffers. As Muslim sisters, we have a responsibility to support one another in times of need.

President Donald Trump Announces Sale of California to Mexico – The Art of The Deal

WASHINGTON (AP) – at 12:15pm today President Trump disclosed that he has reached an agreement with Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico, which provides for the sale of substantially all of the State of California to the country of Mexico. President Trump noted that this deal, which he claims “is his YUGEst real estate deal ever” is a win-win for everyone involved.

The two billionaires, who have clashed in the past, set aside their differences and negotiated the deal in which Mexico will pay for the wall, in exchange for the State of California.

One of the benefits Trump says he will highlight, during a prime time address from the oval office later this week, will include using the proceeds received by the US from Mexico to 1) pay for the wall (fulfilling yet another campaign promise), a wall which will now include the length of the eastern border of California, 2) fund all the infrastructure spending in the remaining 49 states and 3) pay to relocate the 67 remaining Republicans that currently reside in California.  Detailed info can be found clicking the Mexifornia image below…

He also noted that Federal money saved from the reduction of California citizens on US social programs will allow those social programs to be cash positive in less than 3 years.

Mexican President Nieto announced that he has already introduced a bill to the Mexican Congress asking to change the name of the acquisition to Mexifornia.

Other benefits President Trump intends to discuss during this evening’s prime time address include:

• Mexifornia will now be able to act as a sanctuary state within Mexico noting that there is much more room for the refugees who will find the climate in the former State of California more desirable than the climate in US cities such as NYC, Detroit or Chicago.

• The elimination of the existing boarder between Mexico and California will allow drugs to flow more freely between Mexico and the users in Hollywood. Drug tunnel diggers at the Tijuana border will now be able to use their skills to dig tunnels under Los Angeles to help ease congestion in that city and allow rioters to move about the city’s universities more freely

• The U.S. taxpayer will no longer be on the hook for any future disaster relief required once the next megaquake hits California.

The space in the Capitol and other DC buildings vacated by representatives of California will be fumigated and turned into “time-out rooms” for the press as well as Liberty Centers where US citizens can meet with their congressmen to discuss the pursuit of economic freedom.

Nancy P. Lousy released a statement stating that she looks forward to making the Mexican President’s life miserable and prefers the year round weather in Mexico City to that of DC. Her office has already announced a schedule of fund raising activities for what is believed to be an upcoming campaign to run for President of Mexico.

Papers released along with Trump’s statement reveal that a newly incorporated real estate company, Pmurt, Inc., which was intimately involved in the deal discussions, will receive a broker fee of $25 billion on the California sale. An anonymous Pmurt, Inc. representative has revealed that the profits on the deal are YUGE and will be used to purchase, develop and convert all abandoned US Federal facilities in California into special high end retreats and resorts which will assist California residents with managing their euphoria and transition into the nanny state they have so long desired to be.

The exact northern border of the new Mexifornia is still under negotiation. Apparently the White House is concerned that certain members of congress may be unwilling to give up California’s wine country and are suggesting that the northern border align with the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge but that Marin County will happily be ceded to Mexico.

Mexifornia residents will be issued special blue cards to cross the border into the US so that the total number of Mexifornia Liberals entering the US can be tracked and at any point in time not exceed predetermined levels. Residents that remain in Mexifornia after the effective date of the sale will not be allowed to seek refugee status in the US in the future.

Mexican President Nieto stated he is thrilled with the deal and is looking forward to declaring Spanish the national language for his newly acquired territory and opening SSL (Spanish as a Second Language) schools throughout Mexifornia. He also noted that funding for the transaction would come from the Mexican drug cartels, which have agreed to provide low interest loans to Mexico so long as they are allowed to move their cash out of Switzerland and the Cayman Islands back into Mexico tax free. He also said he considers the fact that a Disney park will now be located within his country an added bonus.

White House representatives refused to confirm rumors that a similar deal was in the works for the sale of Northeastern states from NY through Maine, to Canada.

President Trump wrapped up his statement stating, “this deal is YUGE and will help Make America, albeit a little smaller, Great Again”.

If you just figured out this is a joke, satire as it is most commonly called, then you aren’t as bad as the morons that are making comments from just reading the headline and going off half-cocked. Give yourself a hand!

{VIDEO} “Historic” Muslim Primary Winner Married Her Brother While Was Already Married And Possibly In Violation Of Immigration Laws

Somali American Ilhan Omar defeated 22-term incumbent Phyllis Kahn for the nomination of the DFL to serve as the representative of House District 60B in the state legislature. Omar came in first in a three-way primary race for the nomination in Tuesday’s primary. When elected, Omar will be the first Somali American to serve in the Minnesota legislature.

The Star Tribune hailed Omar’s victory as “historic” in a celebratory day-after story. How did Omar do it? They’re pretty excited about it over at the Star Tribune, as they were when Keith Ellison secured the DFL nomination to represent Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District after a contentious four-way primary in 2006.

A reader has written us to point out that the Somali website Somalispot posted information last week suggesting Omar’s involvement in marriage and immigration fraud. The post notes that Omar married Ahmed Hirsi in 2002. Hirsi is the father of Omar’s three children. Omar is depicted with Hirsi and their children on Omar’s campaign website here.

The post further notes that Omar married her brother Ahmed Nur Said Elmi in 2009, implying that the latter marriage assisted his entry into the United States. Her brother was a British citizen. “As soon as Ilhan Omar married him,” the post continues, “he started university at her [a]lma mater North Dakota State University where he graduated in 2012. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Minneapolis where he was living in a public housing complex and was later evicted. He then returned to the United Kingdom where he now lives.”

Let me note here that Omar’s marriage to her brother, if it occurred in fact, is illegal under Minnesota law. I believe it would be void ab initio, as though it never occurred. If it occurred, I infer that it must have taken place for dishonest purposes.

Any such second marriage might be bigamous as well as fraudulent. That is not clear to me. Minnesota law defines bigamy as “knowingly having a prior marriage that is not dissolved” while also “contract[ing] a marriage in this state.” Bigamy is a crime punishable by up to five years in prison or a fine up to $10,000. The definition and penalty provisions of the crime of bigamy are set forth in Minn. Stat. § 609.355.

The Somalispot post has been taken down. The item was originally posted here; it is preserved in a Google cache here with accompanying comments. Comments on the Somalispot post suggest that the information is something of an open secret in the Somali community. Inputting the name Ilhan Omar, I have confirmed both marriages as noted in the Somalispot post via the online Minnesota Official Marriage System.

After confirming the marital information online, I reached out to Omar press spokesman Jean Heyer and Omar campaign manager Dan Cox this morning. I left voicemail messages with both of them explaining why I was calling and subsequently sent them the following email message:

I left a voicemail message for you this morning…I write for the website Power Line (powerlineblog.com). This is to request a comment by the close of business today on the information posted on Somalispot last week indicating that Ilhan Omar was married to her brother in 2009 following her marriage to Ahmed Aden (Hirsi) in 2002.

I assume you are familiar with the post. I am inserting the URL to the Google cache of it below my contact information.

I have related questions. Why did she marry her brother? Was the marriage to her first husband legally dissolved? If so, when?

Jean Heyer emailed me late this morning politely thanking me for my email message. Heyer advised me that Omar was out of town and that they would be in touch with me this afternoon. I responded:

Thank you for this timely response. Just fyi, I emailed my message to Dan Cox as well. I would appreciate a written statement[.]

As I think about this, assuming the information I have is correct, it seems to me that the marriage to her brother would be void ab initio and entered into solely for dishonest purposes. I would appreciate your addressing that as well.

This afternoon I received the following email message from Minneapolis criminal defense attorney Jean Brandl on behalf of Omar:

Dear Mr. Johnson:

I have been contacted by the Ilhan Omar campaign. Their response to your email from this morning is as follows:

“There are people who do not want an East African, Muslim woman elected to office and who will follow Donald Trump’s playbook to prevent it. Ilhan Omar’s campaign sees your superfluous contentions as one more in a series of attempts to discredit her candidacy.

Ilhan Omar’s campaign will not be distracted by negative forces and will continue to focus its energy on creating positive engagement with community members to make the district and state more prosperous and equitable for everyone.”

If you have any further questions regarding this matter, please direct them to me in writing so we have a record of any further communications.

The Omar campaign’s shoddy imputations of my motives speak loudly for themselves, but let me add that I find them disgusting. Putting the shoddy imputations to one side, however, I take Brandl’s message to be the confirmation of a major local story with national implications in light of Omar’s “historic” victory.

Scott Johnson, the author of the Powerline story states in his article that Omar’s marriage to her brother, if it had occurred, is illegal under Minnesota law.  Johnson says in the article, “I believe it would be void ab initio, as though it never occurred.  If it occurred, I infer that it must have taken place for dishonest purposes.”

If she did indeed marry her brother, any such second marriage might be bigamous as well as fraudulent, but it is not clear,” Johnson wrote.  Minnesota law defines bigamy as “knowingly having a prior marriage that is not dissolved while also contracting a marriage in this state.”  Bigamy is a punishable crime, with up to five years in prison or a fine up to $10,000.  The definition and penalty for the crime of bigamy are found in Minn. Johnson contacted Omar’s press spokesperson Jean Heyer and campaign manager Dan Cox and left them a voicemail asking why Omar married her brother and if her first marriage was legally dissolved and when.

Heyer responded to Johnson telling him that Omar was out of town and that Heyer would be in touch with him.  Johnson then responded back telling Heyer that if the information he has about Omar is correct, that her marriage to her brother would be void and was entered into for dishonest purposes and asked that Heyer address those questions as well.
