A Letter to President Obama – “advice from a very old geezer” Epic Takedown

The author of the letter was Hawaii resident Harold B. Estes, a long-serving veteran of the U.S. Navy who was pictured in the May 2005 issue of Fore ‘n Aft magazine and for whom the BMC Harold Estes Leadership Award is named.

The publisher of Fore ‘n Aft kindly responded to an inquiry by Snopes.com and provided confirmation that Harold Estes was indeed the author of this piece:

“Thank you for your note and this opportunity to personally vouch for that to which you refer. The letter is REAL and so is Harold Estes. A retired Master Chief Boatswains Mate, he dictated the letter to a secretary who printed it and Harold has signed it personally. I believe that in addition to the president, over 50 hard copies were mailed to various VIPs bearing his signature. Another personal and mutual friend showed me his copy! Thus, Harold is the author, a dear friend, a very well known Navy Leaguer and so please do mark this TRUE.”

Honolulu television station KITV also interviewed Harold Estes at his Hawaii home and verified that he wrote the letter attributed to him:

A letter from a 95-year-old retired World War II sailor in Hawaii to President Barack Obama has stirred up attention on the Internet.

Retired ship’s Boatswain Harold Estes wrote the letter and someone in Florida sent it to Congress.org. The letter then bounced around different sites and people questioned whether it was real.

Estes said he was unaware of the controversy he caused on the Internet.

“I’ve never looked at anything on the Internet. I don’t follow this. I didn’t write this to get publicity,” Estes said.

Being universally documented, even by this page on Snopes.com, let’s get to the words of Harold B. Estes…

“Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes, approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don’t believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos’n Mate. Now I live in a “rest home” located on the western end of Pearl Harbor allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man.

So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish.

I can’t figure out what country you are the president of. You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like:

  • “We’re no longer a Christian nation”
  • “America is arrogant” – (Your wife even announced to the world, “America is mean-spirited.” Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I’d say shame on the both of you but I don’t think you like America nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said, “America hasn’t lived up to her ideals.” Which ones did you mean?

1. Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British ?

2. Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War?

3. I hope you didn’t mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellahs I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around because we stand for freedom.

4. I don’t think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man. Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don’t, I’ll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don’t want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts who was putting up a fight? You don’t mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don’t want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life but you’re the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you’re not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you’re thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You’re not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That’s not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now. And I sure as hell don’t want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Sincerely,

Harold B. Estes”

Kris Kobach, The Right Answer For Kansas and We The People #TeamKobach

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach launched his campaign for Kansas governor on Thursday, decrying a culture of corruption in Topeka and vowing to crack down on illegal immigration in a speech with echoes of President Donald Trump.

“Voters are tired of the politician who talks like everything he says is carefully polished and has gone through three focus groups. It’s important for your elected officials to tell you what they really believe. Kansas needs leadership. Tuesday’s tax hike should never have happened. Today, I launched my campaign for governor. My goal is for Kansas to lead the nation in every way possible. Let’s make it happen. Let’s lead again.”

Kobach, the architect of controversial election and immigration laws, advised Trump on immigration policy throughout the 2016 election. He emphasized his connections to the president and promised to center his campaign on fighting “corruption, taxation and illegal immigration” during a speech at the Thompson Barn in Lenexa.

During an appearance on the Kansas City Star’s Facebook live show “Beer Hour” later that day, Kobach said that he had turned down positions at the White House and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to remain in Kansas.

Kobach, who is a figure of national controversy for his hardline stance on illegal immigration, calls Kansas the “sanctuary state of the Midwest” and says that the state spends hundreds of millions on public services for illegal immigrants. He lambasted Kansas lawmakers for raising taxes “on hard-working Kansans” by repealing Gov. Sam Brownback’s tax cuts Tuesday to fill the state’s budget hole and contended that the state could have saved dollars by restricting immigration.

“Why don’t they tackle the problem of illegal immigration in the state of Kansas and see if we could save some money there?” he said at his kickoff event.

Kobach cited figures from the Federation for American Immigration Reform, a group considered an extremist group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, in support of this claim. He also pointed to a 2004 law that allows people who entered the country illegally to pay in-state tuition at Kansas universities if they’ve lived in the state for at least three years and have graduated from a Kansas high school.

“We are also the only state in the five-state area that rewards illegal immigration by giving in-state tuition to illegal aliens when our own students are barely able to afford college. I don’t know what I’m going to do when these five get old enough to go to college,” Kobach said, gesturing to his five daughters.

“I mean, think about it. The price of college is going up and up and up,” Kobach said. “The Board of Regents and the universities tell us, oh, they have to keep on increasing tuition, they have to keep on taking more from the taxpayer in legislative spending. But they give away hundreds of millions of dollars to maintain what is a subsidy to illegal aliens. … It’s unfair. It’s unreasonable, and it will stop when I’m governor.”

Image result for kris kobach trump

Almost 700 illegal immigrants took advantage of the in-state tuition program in 2016, mostly for community college, according to data from the Kansas Board of Regents.

Kobach touted his role in crafting immigration laws around the country, including a 2010 Arizona law that critics say encouraged racial profiling by requiring law enforcement officers to determine a suspect’s immigration status if there is reasonable suspicion he or she is in the country illegally. Kobach has repeatedly rejected accusations of racial bias.

His candidacy was condemned by the Fair Immigration Reform Movement, a national group that advocates for immigrant rights. That’s GREAT endorsement!

“Kobach is an Architect of Hate and he’s relied on hate and fear to financially profit as he advanced and defended policies aimed at severely restricting immigration in the United States. He is simply not fit to be governor of Kansas — or hold any public office,” the group said in a statement. Typical left-wing panic, they see the end coming when Kris is elected.

Rep. John Carmichael, a Wichita Democrat who has been a vocal critic of Kobach, accused him of running “on a platform of hate.” Liberal snowflakes, what can I say?

Kobach, who appears regularly on cable news shows and previously hosted a weekly talk radio show, has developed an intensely loyal following both in Kansas and among conservatives nationally for his focus on immigration. Several attendees at Kobach’s campaign kickoff cited his focus on the issue as a major reason for their support.

“My daughter 10 years ago was killed by an illegal alien in a car crash near Basehor, Kansas. She paid the price for somebody being here illegally,” said Dennis Bixby, a Tonganoxie resident. “… He and Donald Trump are the only people talking about it. Otherwise, it wouldn’t even be on the radar.”

Tim Barnett, a Kansas City, Kan. resident, said he regularly goes hunting and fishing with Kobach. Barnett said that Kobach brings the same level of intensity to his leisure activity that he does to his politics.

Image result for kris kobach hunting

“He’s intense,” he said. “Anything he does, he’s on task and just marches. It’s all in. 100 percent all the time. He’s very charismatic and that’s what draws you to him. He’s all in. It’s pretty intoxicating.”

Kobach’s announcement comes less than a month after he was tapped by Trump to serve as vice chairman of a special commission to study voter fraud.

During his six-year tenure as secretary of state, Kobach became the only secretary of state in the nation with prosecutorial power in 2015 and has so far secured nine convictions for election crimes.

He crafted a law that requires Kansas voters to provide proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate or passport, to vote.

Kobach has repeatedly said the law ensures the integrity of Kansas elections, but opponents, including the American Civil Liberties Union, say that the law makes it harder for rightful voters to participate in elections. Dale Ho of the ACLU’s Voting Rights Project referred to Kobach as the “king of voter suppression” last month when his appointment to the commission was announced. The endorsements just keep on coming!

The law blocked thousands of illegal voters from participating in the state’s last gubernatorial election, but it could not be fully enforced in 2016 under orders of obstructionist judges at both the state and federal level. The rulings are still being fought.

Kobach, a former chairman of the Kansas Republican Party, called for term limits and restrictions on how quickly a former lawmaker can become a lobbyist as he spoke to a crowd that included several current and former lawmakers, including former Rep. Travis Couture-Lovelady, who left the Legislature to become a lobbyist for the National Rifle Association. Couture-Lovelady declined to comment and emphasized that the NRA has not yet endorsed a candidate for governor.

“Travis has done great work for the NRA…The NRA lobbies in every state. Now Travis could lobby in Missouri or some other state,” Kobach said. “But the point is you don’t want to have legislators profiting from the relationships they have with the other legislators.”

On the 2nd Amendment subject, Kobach has a 93% NRA rating, one of the highest in the nation for political candidates.

As Secretary of State Kris Kobach takes more than academic interest in the U.S. District Court trial of two men who placed faith in Kansas lawmakers depicting a 2013 law as a shield from federal prosecution for anyone owning firearms made, sold and kept within Kansas.

Kobach, a former law professor who co-authored the Second Amendment Protection Act, said the case built by U.S. Department of Justice attorneys against Shane Cox and Jeremy Kettler was on shaky ground.

“This is a perfect example of a prosecution that should never occur,” Kobach said. “These are individuals who are law-abiding gun owners. Why would the Justice Department be going after somebody like this?”

The statute was developed by Kobach and was embraced by 80 percent of the Legislature and signed into law by Gov. Sam Brownback

Kobach is the third Republican candidate to enter the 2018 race. Wichita oil magnate Wink Hartman, a Republican mega-donor, and former state Rep. Ed O’Malley, a moderate who now runs the Kansas Leadership Center, launched campaigns earlier in the year.

Earth Day 1970 – Almost 5 Decades Later, Here’s The Scoreboard of Their Predictions. America Wins as Globalist Panic Sets In…

The rhetoric began decades before the whining millennials were even thought of. The end of the world. Behold the coming apocalypse as predicted on and around Earth Day, 1970:

“Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” — Harvard biologist George Wald

“Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” — Harvard biologist George Wald

“We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation.” — Washington University biologist Barry Commoner

“Man must stop pollution and conserve his resources, not merely to enhance existence but to save the race from intolerable deterioration and possible extinction.” — New York Times editorial

“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years.” — Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich

“Most of the people who are going to die in the greatest cataclysm in the history of man have already been born. By 1975 some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s.” — Paul Ehrlich

“It is already too late to avoid mass starvation,” — Denis Hayes, Chief organizer for Earth Day

“Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions. By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.” — North Texas State University professor Peter Gunter

“In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution, by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half.” — Life magazine

“At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.” — Ecologist Kenneth Watt

“Air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone.” — Paul Ehrlich

“By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate… that there won’t be any more crude oil. You’ll drive up to the pump and say, ‘Fill ‘er up, buddy,’ and he’ll say, ‘I am very sorry, there isn’t any.'” — Ecologist Kenneth Watt

“One theory assumes that the earth’s cloud cover will continue to thicken as more dust, fumes, and water vapor are belched into the atmosphere by industrial smokestacks and jet planes. Screened from the sun’s heat, the planet will cool, the water vapor will fall and freeze, and a new Ice Age will be born.” — Newsweek magazine

“The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.” — Kenneth Watt

Back to now, almost 50 years later, with Trump Derangement Syndrome fueling their unfounded fears, they are still spreading alarmist propaganda to advance the Globalist takeover.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in Washington, D.C.

The “Climate Change” conspirators just need to get over it. Man has had little to no effect in causing it and if the best efforts of the Paris Agreements (which are non-binding, so basically it would be the U.S. taking the bullet and the bulk of the economic damage, just like the non-binding U.N. agreements) were carried out, the “scientists” themselves agree it would only lower the global temps by 0.02 degrees, by 2100, while they also say the if it isn’t lowered by at least 2 degrees by then it will be the end of the world.

Well, don’t sweat it, the natural cycles that have been going one for hundreds of thousands of years will lower the temps by much more than that without us doing anything.

Take note of the CO2 red line in this long term graph, we are at the lowest point in millions of years…

climate-change-hoax

And the “man made” climate change theorists couldn’t me more wrong, the next graphic shows the natural climate cycles reaching back millennia, long before the “monkeys evolved into man.” The more jagged data toward today merely represents more detailed recording of events, but the general cycle is what counts…

climate change chart historical

Let’s shorten the time frame just for fun, and look at average July temperatures in the United States for the last hundred years…

Scientific climate history data and records prove unequivocally that you need to STFU, Chicken Littles!

Politicians are demanding the United Nations change their own climate reports to fit the man-made global warming multi-billion-dollar business agenda. Scientific and academic shills are simply publishing whatever the politicians and corporate nihilists tell them they want to share on mass media, just as the biotechnology Big-Ag industry does with GMO technology “studies.”

The “Solar Grand Maximum” (SGM) creates global warming and cooling, not humans and their antics

Every single global warming alarmist stops talking when someone simply says the words, “Solar Grand Maximum.” In fact, the solar grand maximum has ended, thus ending the “global warming” trend the alarmists have been pushing on Americans for two decades. You see, there are no humans on Mars, Pluto, or Jupiter, where planetary warming has been observed during the decades following the peak of the SGM. Climate changes on Earth are due to solar changes and our interstellar environment, not human behavior. We are arrogant and egotistical to believe in such a preposterous theory. The SGM is now moving into a solar grand minimum.

That means global cooling (a mini Ice Age) is on the horizon, which is simply a natural oscillation that occurs in very long solar cycles. In complete contradiction to the climate change hoax being perpetuated via social media and mass media today, true science reveals that sharp increases in global warming actually PRECEDE sharp increases in CO2, and not the other way around. Therefore, the Earth’s oceans are beginning to cool. Upon closer look, temperatures that span the last 100 years correlate with ocean cycles more than they correlate with carbon dioxide, and those ocean cycles are caused by solar and lunar cycles.

Amazing Instant Video available at Amazon!

These facts are what every single global warming alarmist must ignore, blackout, and completely avoid to be able to push their false narrative.Global warming is completely fear-based. Sure, humans contribute to greenhouse gases, but the cumulative effect is a miniscule fraction compared to the natural causes, and to say humans are THE cause of climate change is all one big scare tactic fueling the mass hysteria for the biggest Ponzi scheme ever known to mankind – even bigger than the military industrial war complex.

World’s largest and most lucrative Ponzi scheme – Climate Control

2001: Al Gore’s net worth $2 million

2016: Al Gore’s net worth $100 million

Before leaving office as Clinton’s VP, Al Gore was not what most consider a “filthy” rich man, but thanks to the global warming SCAM, he’s now worth a cool $100 million. Gore invested in fake “green tech” companies and embezzled the loans and grants, then watched all those companies go bankrupt (all as part of the plan from the beginning). With no intentions whatsoever of funding companies that would build wind mills, or wind turbines, or solar panels, and use natural energy to help the environments and ecosystems, Al Gore is the fulcrum of the world’s largest and most lucrative Ponzi scheme – Climate Control.

Amazing Instant Video available at Amazon!

Barrack Hussein Obama works the same plot and ploys, embezzling money from companies like Solyndra, where he grants them money up front, and they return part of that in campaign contributions, fueling his Ponzi schemes to stop the … “destructive power of a warming planet.” Essentially, Obama used taxpayer monies to fund his re-election campaign, by channeling it through fake green companies that never come to be anything productive. In fact, Solyndra became return investment for Goldman Sachs when they took it over after the “fall.” Other federal loans to the tune of $400 million were all but given to companies like Abound Solar, which of course, went bankrupt too, along with over 100 different “green” companies. Solar, along with the others, all give a portion of their riches back to the Democratic campaigns by the hundreds of thousands. Greedy scientists, academic shills, and even the EPA, the Environmental Protection Agency, also participate in the money laundering scheme to make it all sound official.

The billionaires get richer while American taxpayers invest in a Ponzi scheme with no return except some temporary quelled fears about the burning temperature of Earth being staved off by some rogue, criminal politicians and globalists. (17) This is how the global scam adds up to billions and billions and even trillions of dollars. Now you see why the narrative is pushed SO HARD in the mass media. The criminal politicians are still using any extreme weather event to push their false narrative, including the recent floods that are devastating Louisiana. (18) (19) The EPA and Al Gore know no bounds. Meanwhile, the alarmists fly around in jets burning fossil fuel and lecturing people on how burning fossil fuel is warming the planet. It’s complete hypocrisy hurled at the taxpayers who live in fear while paying for a huge lie, all while the planet’s temperature gets a little milder.

Consider the following…

What is the takeaway of this confession? It is nothing less than a shocking admission that man-made global warming is all about politics — Marxist, socialist, collectivist politics — masquerading under the false labels of science and environmental concern.

President Donald Trump speaks about the U.S. role in the Paris climate change accord on Thursday, June 1, in the Rose Garden of the White House…

The GAP Features Hijab in Their 2017 Campaign – #CloseTheGAP #BoycottGAP

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is what we’ve come to. Major corporations are kissing Muslim ass to get their dollars! Gap is welcoming the season by celebrating diversity, with a hijabi. The American clothing retailer launched its new summer collection with a video featuring Americans from around the country, one of whom is a hijabi.

“Along the way we met truly amazing people (like you). Brave and loving, funny and powerful, complex and strong, YOU ARE GAP!”
Gap joins other companies like CokeMicrosoft, H&M, and Honey Maid to name a few, who are featuring Muslim women wearing hijab in their commercials and showing their audience that they are only in it for the money, screw our culture.
“When Gap reached out to us about featuring one of our hijabs in their campaign, we were thrilled! It’s finally out, and we could not be more excited about the finished piece!” the Haute Hijab staff wrote in a blog post.
This needs to go viral, share it with the #CloseTheGap and #BoyCottGAP tags. Let’s hit them where they really care, their GD bank account! This garbage is going too far. They don’t give a flying f##k about Muslims, it’s just brand capitalizing on current affairs and a big corporation tapping into the American Muslim demographic to make more money.
Make sure you visit the GAP Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages to tell them how happy you are to see a hijab (wearing Haute Hijab) in their campaign!
We are not responsible if anything below the red line give you a stroke!

Welcome to Haute Hijab!

I’m Melanie, the founder and CEO of Haute Hijab and I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to our vibrant and inclusive community!

Our community consists of beautiful women empowering one another through their inspiring stories, style and commitment to faith. Our hijab prints are hand-picked and fabrics are meticulously scrutinized to feel amazing and be the key to leaving you comfortable and confident, everyday. Don’t be shy, please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help. We are your brand!

When GAP reached out to us about featuring one of our hijabs in their campaign, we were thrilled! It’s finally out, and we could not be more excited about the finished piece!

Watch the GAP video below:

The campaign is titled, “I Am GAP, Portrait of an American Summer”, and it features a [Haute] Hijabi! Given today’s political and social climate, Gap makes a bold statement with this video. The campaign acknowledges diversity and is yet another commercial that brings hijab into the mainstream!

Premium Jersey Wrap - Sapphire

GAP’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity is nothing new. They dedicate a page on their website to break down everything they are doing as a company to foster inclusion. They state, “Diversity unlocks our innovation, helps attract and retain talent, and builds connections with our customers.” We couldn’t agree more.

In 2013, Gap featured a Sikh model in their holiday #MakeLove campaign, and when the ad was defamed, Gap responded with a message of solidarity and even changed their Twitter background to the picture of Ahluwalia (the Sikh model). Most recently, they made strides towards inclusivity by showing children that different is beautiful with their latest 11-year-old model, April, who has a skin condition called Vitiligo. April is featured in a video on Gap’s Facebook page saying,”Confidence is courage.” That’s a powerful message to send to young children.

Hybutalla, who was featured in the campaign. It is important for people to see relatable role models and models in the mainstream media. Diversity needs to be acknowledged and celebrated. While there is no doubt a lack of diversity in the fashion industry, things are slowly beginning to change. Gap joins other companies like CokeMicrosoft, H&M, and Honey Maid to name a few, who are featuring Muslim women wearing hijab in their commercials and showing their audience that the hijab is beautiful, it is normal, and it is here to stay.

Are you struggling with hijab? Is there something holding you back from putting it on? Do you have thoughts of removing it? As Muslims, we have a responsibility to help our fellow sisters in need. In surah Tawbah, Allah (S) says, “the believers, men and women, are protectors of one another: they enjoin what is just and forbid what is evil…” (9:71).

At all times, and most particularly in times of trials and tribulations, it is the duty of Muslims to stand together helping and supporting one another. Allah has decreed that Muslims should form a tight-knit community or ummah that loves and cares for one another. The Prophet (S) taught that the ummah should act like a body: if one part of the body suffers pain, the other part also suffers. As Muslim sisters, we have a responsibility to support one another in times of need.

At Haute Hijab, we aspire to provide support to those struggling with hijab.  Haute Hijab too is part of the wider community and our service is not only to supply apparel to Muslim women, but also to recognize that community support is needed for those we interact with on a daily basis. As a company, helping our community is part of our core philosophy.

The Apples and Oranges (pun intended) of the Trump / Nixon Rhetoric of the Leftists, and the Real Reason he was fired…

It’s like comparing World War II to an exhibition baseball game. Apples and oranges doesn’t do justice to how different these two situations are.

The ink was not yet dry on President Donald Trump’s statement announcing the dismissal of when political opponents began drawing comparisons to President Richard Nixon’s infamous “Saturday Night Massacre.”

Comparisons between Nixon and Trump are already numerous, from commentators ranging from Carl Bernstein to Stephen Colbert. The Late Show has even joked that Trump receives social-media counseling from Nixon’s ghost. But Nixon came from a different time and governed a very different America. Therefore, until the Watergate scandal really became critical in early 1973, Nixon’s presidency went very differently from the way Donald Trump’s has so far, reflecting key differences between that time and this one.

With the Watergate investigation closing in on him, Nixon in October 1973 fired his attorney general and deputy attorney general before he found an official willing to ax the special prosecutor who was investigating the Democratic Party headquarters break-in.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N-Y.) argued that is analogous to Trump’s dismissal of Obama administration holdover Yates for ordering Justice Department lawyers not to defend the president’s executive order freezing the refugee program and travel from seven terrorism-compromised countries.

“We had a Monday night massacre,” he declared. “James Comey, a person of great integrity who follows the law, was fired.”

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) drew the same conclusion, confirming that she voted against the confirmation of Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) to be the attorney general. She praised Comey arguing that it took guts.

“That statement took a steel spine to stand up and say, ‘no,’” she said. “It took the courage of [Nixon Attorney General] Elliot Richardson and [Nixon Deputy Attorney General] William Ruckelshaus to stand up to President Nixon. That is what an an FBI director must be willing and able to do.”

But legal experts noted Tuesday that Nixon was trying to obstruct a criminal investigation in which he was implicated, while Trump simply removed an insubordinate political appointee from the previous administration.

“There’s no comparison at all,” said Peter Flaherty, president of the National Legal and Policy Center. “This Justice official was insubordinate and should have been fired.”

Andrew McCarthy, who served as lead prosecutor on several high-profile terrorism cases in Manhattan in the 1990s, agreed. “To my mind, he should have been escorted out of the building,” he said.

“It’s like comparing World War II to an exhibition baseball game,” he said. “Apples and oranges doesn’t do justice to how different these two situations are.”

Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, said Comey acted for clearly personal and political reasons.

“Trump’s move was an anti-corruption move,” he said. “It’s the exact opposite of what Nixon did … This is exactly what we need more of.”

Flaherty said former President Obama almost certainly would have taken the same action against a holdover from his predecessor’s administration. And the holdover official likely would have been “vilified,” not praised in the media, he said.

“It underscores the problem, to me, just how much trouble the media is having covering President Trump,” he said.

A man who played a role in Nixon’s downfall, Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein, also threw cold water on the “Saturday Night Massacre” storyline.

“There’s a big difference, because the ‘Saturday Night Massacre’ was really about firing the attorney general when Nixon was the target of an investigation and was actively obstructing justice,” he told “CNN Tonight” on Wednesday. “The president is within his rights here to fire the FBI director, that he has that ability.”

For Democrats hoping for fissures between Trump and the GOP majority in Congress, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) stomped out that bit of wishful thinking.

“What is happening is something that we support, which is, we need to pause and we need to make sure that the vetting standards are up to snuff so that we can guarantee the safety and security of our country,” he told reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference on Tuesday. “That is what this does. We want this goal to be achieved.”

A letter obtained by NBC News from Trump to Comey states the president had been advised by administration officials to remove the FBI head.

“I have received the attached letters from the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General of the United States recommending your dismissal as the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I have accepted their recommendation and you are hereby terminated and removed from office, effective immediately,” Trump told Comey.

“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgement of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau.”

“It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission.”

In a memorandum written by newly confirmed Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, numerous reasons are given for Comey’s dismissal.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said he’s seen no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, accusing Democrats of pushing a “huge myth.”

Paul said Democrats will now clamor for a special prosecutor to look into the matter following the firing of FBI Director James Comey.

“I don’t think there’s been any facts presented that anybody broke the law. … I don’t think there’s any evidence that anybody broke the law,” he said on “Fox & Friends” today.

Paul said he has not even heard an “accusation” on what crime Democrats believe may have been committed.

“[Democrats] were for getting rid of Comey too, but now they’re gonna say it’s all about this Russia investigation, which hasn’t produced one iota of evidence,” said Paul.

He said Comey’s firing “could not happen soon enough,” calling out Democrats for criticizing the move despite previously declaring they had lost faith in Comey after his handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation.

Which brings us to the most important underlying reason for the dismissal…

Why Did Trump Want to Cut the NIH Budget? Their Human Genome Project is a Good Example – A $2.7 Billion Fraud!

Congress sent President Donald Trump a multi-billion dollar poke in the eye Monday, refusing to slash medical spending as Trump proposed and instead giving the National Institutes of Health a $2 billion raise.

Trump had proposed slashing NIH by $1.2 billion for the rest of 2017 to help pay for his proposed increases in defense spending. Instead, Congress gave the NIH an extra $2 billion for the next 6 months, bumping its total 2017 budget to $34 billion.

Oklahoma Rep. Tom Cole, a Republican who chairs the appropriations subcommittee that oversees NIH funding and who sits on the budget committee, said funding medical research is something Republicans and Democrats agree on easily.

pork bar·rel
ˈpôrk ˌberəl/
noun
  1. the use of government funds for projects designed to please voters or legislators and win votes.
“political pork barrel for the benefit of their respective sponsors”

In 1990, Congress established funding for the Human Genome Project and set a target completion date of 2005. Here we are in 2017, and they are asking for more funding for their “humanitarian” project.

A seemingly commonplace meeting kicked off a firestorm of controversy. Last May, more than 100 experts in genetics and bioengineering convened at Harvard Medical School for a meeting that was closed to the public — attendees were asked not to contact news media or to post about the meeting on social media.

The same group is getting back together in New York City next week.

To the meeting organizers, last year’s secretive measures were, counterintuitively, to make sure as many people heard about the project as possible. They were submitting a paper about the project to a scientific journal and were discouraged from sharing the information publicly before it was published.

But there’s another reason why this group of scientists, while encouraging debate and public involvement, would be wary of attracting too much attention. Their project is an effort to synthesize DNA, including human DNA. Researchers will start with simpler organisms, such as microbes and plants, but hope to ultimately create strands of human genetic code. One of the group’s organizers, Jef Boeke, director of the Institute for Systems Genetics at NYU School of Medicine, told CNBC that incorporating synthesized DNA into mammalian (or even human) cells could happen in four to five years.

This project follows in the footsteps of the Human Genome Project (HGP), the 13-year, $2.7 billion project that enabled scientists to first decode the human genome. “HGP allowed us to read the genome, but we still don’t completely understand it,” said Nancy Kelley, the coordinator of the new effort, dubbed GP-write.

But why all the secrecy, for this supposedly incredible, life-changing breakthrough? What are they hiding?

The entire concept of the project is a total farce!

Genetics is an attempt by materialistic scientists to offer a purely materialist view of inheritance and development of not just physical bodies but non-physical inherited attributes such as instinctive behaviors and cellular function.

According to the theory of genetics, physical gene sequences contained in chromosomes found in each cell in your body are a “blueprint” for all your body’s physical structures, biochemical functions and inherited behavioral patterns. This blueprint, the theory goes, contains ALL the instructions needed to create a complete human form with all its physical structures, physiological functions and inherited behaviors fully represented and complete.

Because of the enormous complexity of the human body, organ function, cell structures and instinctive behaviors, it was once believed that humans must possess somewhere around 2 million protein-coding genes. The Human Genome Project was launched in 1990 with the widespread belief that when it was finished, it would “unlock” all the mysteries of the origins of disease in humans. It was also believed that when the human genome fully mapped, scientists would be able to create humans in any form they wanted, including humans with extra arms or legs, humans free of all disease, humans with “enhanced” physical powers, and so on.

At the start of the Human Genome Project, everybody “knew” that humans were far more complex than, say, a roundworm, which only has about 20,000 protein-coding genes. This is why estimates of the number of genes in a human ranged from 100,000 to 2 million. Scientists were absolutely sure that humans were far more complex than a tiny roundworm, and therefore humans needed far more genes.

The Human Genome Project suffers an “epic fail”

The first draft of the Human Genome Project was published in the year 2,000. Far from being a breakthrough that would end all human disease, its findings utterly shattered the mythology of genetics as the sole explanation for all inheritance and physical development. Why? Because the Human Genome Project found that humans have only about 20,000 protein-coding genes, roughly the same number as the roundworm.

Huh? A human being has about the same number of protein-coding genes as a roundworm? Yes. And that’s straight out of the mouths of human genome researchers who are, themselves, hard-core materialists.

By comparison, the common fruit fly has about 15,000 genes, only marginally less than a human. And yet it is obvious to any intelligent observer than a human being is considerably more complex than a fruit fly and a roundworm. So why didn’t the Human Genome Project find a lot more genes that code proteins in humans?

Genetic inheritance theory shattered…

The findings of the multi-billion-dollar Human Genome Project shattered the mythology of genetic materialism, sending nearly the entire scientific community into a tailspin and forcing “the great genetic cover-up” to begin.

Human genes simply needed “more research” to be understood, scientists exclaimed. And since the year 2000, that research has continued to no avail. The cover-up continues…

The truth is that there isn’t enough data storage in 20,000 genes to hold a blueprint for a human being.

Human DNA data storage capacity…

Allow me to explain this from a computer science point of view, as many of you know I founded a very successful computer software company and was the head of R&D for many computer science projects, including the popular new SCIENCE.naturalnews.com which uses advanced statistical algorithms to analyze scientific concepts across millions of published studies.

The human genome contains about 3 billion “base pairs” of genes. Each base pair can exist in one of four possible combinations of the four bases that make up DNA: Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Cytosine (C), and Guanine (G).

From a digital storage point of view — as DNA is “digital” in its format — a base pair is equivalent to two bits of binary data, which can represent four possible states as follows:

00
01
10
11

In computer storage vernacular, a “byte” is eight bits of data, such as:

01011010

Four DNA base pairs, then, makes one byte of data.

Given that there are roughly 3 billion base pairs in the human genome, this equates to roughly about 750MB of data storage capacity.

It turns out this number is shockingly small. 750MB is smaller than the file of a typical modern video game. It’s smaller than a movie on a DVD, in fact. It’s so small that a typical miniature thumb drive you might buy at Best Buy can actually store over 20 times as much data (that’s merely a 16 GB thumb drive). You can buy a 16GB SD card right now on Amazon.com for a mere $12.

750MB of data is so small that no one can explain how it could possibly account for a human body with extraordinary complexity while somehow encompassing physical, structural, functional and behavioral inheritance as well.

To get a grasp of the complexity of the human body, realize that your body is made of 60 – 90trillion cells. Each cell is its own ecosystem with highly complex functions including cell energy production, waste removal, cell membrane function, the nucleus command control center, and so on.

Your body manufactures 10 million red blood cells every hour. It has a capacity to heal damaged tissues almost everywhere. Your skin and intestines are being slowly replaced with new cells every minute. Your immune system is incredibly complex and highly capable, representing the most advanced system of nanotechnology that modern science has ever witnessed.

On top of all this, you are born with innate behaviors and the ability to develop, all on your own, the behavioral skills to walk, talk, focus your eyes, digest foods, eliminate waste, sweat, breathe and much more. Meanwhile, your body accomplishes billions of chemical reactions every second without you even knowing it. Somehow, every cell, organ and organ system in your body knows what to do to keep you alive and functioning.

Your body and its functions are unimaginably complex. Simply cataloging the structure and function of all the cells in your body right now would take countless terabytes of data — more than a million times larger than “megabytes” of data.

Yet the entire human genome delivers only 750MB worth of data storage. Obviously, this is wholly insufficient to describe the entire structure, function and development of a human being. No matter how the desperate materialists try to keep us focused on human genes, it flat-out isn’t possible to store a full blueprint of the human form in 750MB of data.

The human genome, therefore, is not the entire blueprint of human development. Although some genes do obviously code for some physical characteristics (such as eye color), genes alone do not contain the full blueprint. There must be something else that also contributes morphological information in addition to DNA.

The Human Genome Project, to the shock of nearly all materialists, ultimately proved exactly the opposite of what scientists had hoped. It proved that genes alone do not explain inheritance.

The materialists were horrified by this finding. To this very day, they are pouring over human genome data, desperately trying to find some “meta data” that would explain all inheritance. What they refuse to acknowledge is that there is a non-physical field of inheritance patterns that functions as an overlay to the human genome, interacting with it and enhancing its scope with non-physical encoding of additional information needed to develop a complete human form.

That field is called the “morphic resonance” field, and it was proposed by one of the most brilliant, revolutionary scientific thinkers of our time, Rupert Sheldrake, a biologist and author of “Science Set Free.”

Morphic resonance fields infuriate materialists…

The idea of morphic resonance infuriates materialists — and nearly all modern-day scientists are materialists — because the presence of a non-physical field of information naturally leads to the most dangerous idea of all to materialist science: the idea of consciousness.

This idea that your body as a whole, as well as each cell in your body, can tap into a field of information which encodes the “memory” of what a human form is supposed to be threatens the very pillars of materialistic science, upon which nearly the entire pharmaceutical industry is based, by the way. This is why materialist scientists are desperately attempting to defend the human genome as the single source of all the information needed to develop a human body, even though the human genome clearly doesn’t have the storage capacity to represent an entire body (not to mention inherited physiological functions and behavioral inheritance).

The best place to read and learn about morphic resonance is at Rupert Sheldrake’s website:
http://www.sheldrake.org/Articles&Papers/pap…

I also recommend his amazingly insightful book, A New Science of Life.

Keep in mind that if you read about Rupert Sheldrake from any materialistic science website — including Scientific American which is 100% pro-Monsanto, pro-GMO and anti GMO labeling, by the way — you are going to read vicious attacks against Sheldrake from desperate materialists who brand morphic resonance as “magical thinking.”

This is especially comic, given that these same materialists believe the entire universe in which we live spontaneously appeared from nowhere without cause or reason through a process they call the “Big Bang.” Somehow, the big bang isn’t magical thinking to the materialists, but the idea of a non-physical field of inheritance is magical thinking. It’s almost like these people have never heard of gravity: yet another invisible field that affects all living things.

How does your hand know it’s a hand?

Another key problem with the theory of genetic inheritance is that even though all the cells across your body are supposed to contain the same exact genetic code, somehow the cells in your hand knew they were supposed to grow into a hand, not a foot or an ear, for example.

Conventional genetics has no explanation for this. How does a cell “know” it’s supposed to be a specialized cell functioning as a tiny part of the whole? If every blood cell in your body contains the DNA for your entire body, how does it “know” to form itself into a blood cells and not, for example, a skin cell?

Rupert Sheldrake’s morphic resonance explanation provides an answer. The cell taps into a knowledge field — a non-physical pattern blueprint — and through influence with that field, the cell knows to activate only the genes that code for it to form a blood cell. The local physical genes accomplish the protein coding, but the morphic resonance field directs the pattern of which genes to activate. This is how morphic fields interact with DNA.

The human genome, in other words, works hand in hand with a non-physical information field that keeps physical form development organized so that the resulting form is a human. The morphic resonance field “knows” the pattern of being human because it is a pattern that has been reinforced by billions of other humans who came before you and contributed to the resonance of the field.

This explains the missing link in DNA — the fact that DNA alone cannot store the entire blueprint of the human form. The master blueprint is actually found in the non-physical morphic field. Local DNA are simply “protein builders” that follow the morphic resonance blueprint.

Just like there is an energetic pattern for a human being, there’s also a different energetic template for an oak tree, and it overlays the genes from an oak tree seed, directing it to form a fully-grown oak tree. For every cell, every organ, every organ system and every life form on our planet (and across the universe), there is a morphic resonance field that provides the template overlay which affects local gene activation.

Learn more about morphic resonance…

This article, of course, is only a short summary of the concept of morphic resonance. To learn more, I encourage you to read books by Rupert Sheldrake, and visit the Sheldrake.org website.

Keep in mind that Sheldrake’s theories absolute infuriate materialist scientists. The journal Nature actually suggested that Sheldrake should be burned at the stake… like a witch, I suppose. TED talks essentially banned Sheldrake from speaking because he dared mention the idea of “consciousness.”

Everywhere across the fatally closed-minded community of materialist science, Sheldrake is considered to be worse than a demon… he is a non-believer in the Church of Materialism! And there is no greater sin to today’s cult-like science community than non-belief in materialism.

This is why Sheldrake’s ideas will be viciously attacked, demonized and denied… up until the day they are finally embraced and accepted as the “new science of life.” In a hundred years, Sheldrake will likely be remembered as far more important to science than even Charles Darwin. His ideas are not merely revolutionary, but desperately needed to advance science beyond the limiting realm of materialism. If science does not expand its scope beyond chemical structures, it will never understand life and will always remain mystified and frustrated about why genes still don’t control much in the way of inheritance.

Watch for more coverage of Rupert Sheldrake here on Natural News, where our ideas are rooted in science yet not limited by the artificial confines of materialism. We also hope to interview Sheldrake soon and bring you the interview that TED won’t allow you to hear.

Beyond the debunked science, questions for faith believers…

1. Where is the gene for creativity? If creative works (songs, poems, fiction novels, etc.) are merely the work of mechanistic brains following genetic instructions, then all the lifelong works of creative individuals (musicians, artists, novelists, etc.) must somehow be encoded in the DNA before birth. Where is all this creativity encoded?

2. How does a blood cell know to make itself into a blood cell and not a skin cell?

3. Why is most physical inheritance unable to be traced to DNA? (The “heritability problem.”)

4. If there is not enough storage capacity in the human genome to fully describe the human form, then where does the rest of the blueprint come from?

5. Where is the genetic code for love, compassion and cooperation, without which human civilization never would have survived?

6. If human consciousness is an illusion, as materialists claim, then it can have no impact on human behavior, which is purely mechanistic, they insist. So then why did the “illusion of consciousness” evolve in human beings if it serves no purpose? This contradicts one of the more fundamental tenants of natural selection.

7. Are you, yourself, purely a mechanistic biological robot suffering under the illusion of consciousness? And if so, then why should we listen to anything you have to say in the first place?

America Struggles In a Time of Trump Rebuilding – Time To Turn The Page

Presidential elections are always something of a national Rorschach test…

The reaction to candidates, like the perception of inkblots, helps to divulge the nation’s character, underlying disorders and emotional condition. Donald Trump’s unexpected victory showed that America had a split personality.

It also revealed that, among his 62 million supporters, rage and fear were over-riding emotions. “Make America Great Again” not only became a mission statement but a nostalgic catch-all. For many of his white working class supporters, it implied a return to an era when the homeland was more homogenised and the world was less globalised.

What has become clear since Donald Trump delivered his inaugural address is that he has changed the presidency more than the presidency has changed him.

The vocabulary of President Trump, if not all his policies, is much the same as that of candidate Trump. To the White House he has brought the same aggression and plain-speaking that characterised his insurgent campaign.

The first 100 days of an administration, though in many ways a bogus measure, can also be diagnostic. They can reveal the character of a presidency and set the tone.

At his inaugural ball he vowed to keep tweeting. By choosing Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” for his first dance, he also gave us a musical clue as to how he would govern. Trump would be Trump. The anti-politician had morphed into the anti-president.

From his ongoing refusal to release his tax returns to his stonewalling of requests to disclose visitor logs at the White House, he has indicated normal rules do not apply to him.

All this continues to horrify his critics but not most of his supporters. They voted for unorthodoxy, and seem to have granted him dispensation to flout norms so long as he delivers results.

And yet, he has received highest marks when he is at his most conventionally presidential.

His speech to the joint session of Congress, which was similar in language and tone to normal State of the Union addresses, was probably the highpoint of his first 100 days. It got far better reviews than his inaugural, both from Republicans and some Democrats.

His decision to strike Syria also trod the path of orthodoxy. Cool-headed and cogent, his late-night statement explaining his decision to strike was also standard presidential fare. Even some of his detractors remarked how in these two moments he truly assumed the mantles of president and commander-in-chief.

Lauded by many Democrats who wished Obama had enforced his red line on chemical weapons, the strike on Syria angered some hardline loyalists.

There’s an argument to be made that Trump is at his most successful in foreign affairs when he’s at his most unpredictable for the simple reason that is when he’s most feared. The Assad regime will surely hesitate before ordering another chemical strike.

Nato’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he’s already seeing the effect of Trump’s focus on financial burden-sharing within the military alliance. The American aid worker Aya Hijazi was released after three years in detention only when Trump raised her case with President Sisi.

At the United Nations, there’s a new focus on reform, especially of peacekeeping operations. This is partly because there is a new reformist Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, but mainly because of the fear that the US, by far the organisation’s biggest donor, could pull funding. Trump has brought a fear factor to the American presidency often absent during the Obama years.

The Trump administration clearly believes “the era of strategic patience” towards Kim Jong-un is over, and that sabre rattling will jolt the Beijing into pressuring Pyongyang. The next 100 days, presumably, will tell.

Overall, there’s a “good cop bad cop” dynamic to the Trump administration’s diplomacy. Mainstream foreign policy types such as Defence Secretary James Mattis and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson adopt the more conventional approach. Trump lends menace, often through his tweets.

Sometimes the very administration seems to have a split personality. Yet the first 100 days have probably yielded more results in the foreign realm than the domestic.

Noticeable in these first 100 days has been the corporatisation of the presidency. There’s a chairman-of-the-board feel to his daily routine, with its meetings and photo opportunities that often place him in a leather-backed chair in the presidential boardroom – the West Wing basically has two, the Roosevelt Room and the Cabinet Room – surrounded by corporate chiefs. His cabinet is also packed with fellow billionaires and multi-millionaires.

There’s been criticism that Trump spends so much time at resorts owned by the Trump Organization.

An aim of staffing the administration with so many executives was to vest government with corporate know-how and efficiency.

Victories are often lost in the swirl of controversy. Illegal crossings over the southern border have fallen sharply, by 40% during the first month of Trump’s presidency, according to the Department of Homeland Security.

That’s the steepest decline since 2009. With immigration arrests up by almost a third in the first month, there’s a feeling among his supporters that he is delivering on his pledge to protect America’s border, even if construction has not yet started on his famed wall.

Trump would argue he has already made the homeland safer.

The hostile commentary on him is similar to the scorn heaped on Ronald Reagan. Yet the movie star president is now widely seen as the leader who, by winning the Cold War, ended America’s long national nightmare after Vietnam and Watergate.

Lyndon Baines Johnson was pilloried as a racist vulgarian, but nonetheless enacted transformative legislation such as the 1964 Civil Rights Act, dismantling segregation, and launching Medicare.

History remembers John F Kennedy’s early presidency for the elegance of his inaugural address and the photogenic beauty of his New Frontier, but his first months in office were full of missteps.

They included the Bay of Pigs, a string of congressional setbacks and a disastrous summit with Nikita Khrushchev in Vienna, which emboldened the Soviet leader to build the Berlin Wall. While Trump cannot yet boast much of a record of accomplishment in these first 100 days, there are still 1361 to go.

Donald Trump’s executive power has continually been constrained. After signing that early executive order banning entrants from seven mainly-Muslim countries, the courts intervened to block him.

With TrumpCare, it wasn’t the courts that blocked Trump but Congress. As he sought to repeal and replace Obamacare, Trump could not even secure a simple majority in a House of Representatives under Republican control.

The Republican leadership, frustrated by these checks, successfully removed one of them: the use of the filibuster in blocking nominees to America’s highest court – in this instance, Trump’s nominee Neil Gorsuch.

This did not involve an amendment to the constitution, rather a revision of Senate rules, but it was nonetheless momentous. This nuclear option, as it is called, delivered a clear win for the president: the elevation of Judge Gorsuch to the bench.

However, the filibuster remains intact to block his legislative agenda, and Democrats will use it to thwart Trump.

Just as Republicans, the great practitioners of the politics of No, used the constitution to stymie Barack Obama, Democrats are relying upon it to impede Donald Trump. For them, the constitution must now seem timeless and timely. A number of Democrats have told me that the genius of the Founding Fathers was to anticipate this kind of presidency.

In these first 100 days, we have been reminded of the power of states and municipalities. We have seen an inversion of the doctrine of states’ rights. For decades, states’ rights was the battle-cry of white supremacists determined to uphold segregation in defiance of federal court orders demanding integration. Now progressive states are using this principle.

Some of the biggest cities in the country, including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Washington DC, are wilfully obstructing Trump’s immigration crackdown. Thus, sanctuary cities have become to the progressive left what segregationist citadels were to the racist right, emblematic battlefields in a tug of war between local government and the federal government.

Protest power has also emerged as a significant force, as something akin to a national passion play has unfolded on the streets. The sea of pink pussy hats at the massive woman’s marches on the first weekend of the presidency vividly highlighted a new sense of personal political empowerment: people ready to take matters into their own hands.

Constrained by Congress, the courts and his own party, so far this has not been an imperial presidency, the phrase coined by the historian Arthur M Schlesinger Jr to describe the Nixon White House, which was accused, even before the Watergate break-in, of pushing constitutional bounds.

Rather it has been an inhibited presidency, in which Donald Trump has been made all too aware of the limits of his executive power.

Donald Trump’s promise to Make America Great Again was primarily an economic pledge, and there were early signs of a Trump Bump on Wall Street and Main Street.

Just three trading days after the new president took the oath of office, the Dow Jones Industrial Average broke through the 20,000 mark for the first time in its history. Investors expected him to slash corporate taxes and set fire to business regulations. Not since 2000, a report suggested last month, has consumer confidence been so buoyant.

As for the impact of Trump’s “Buy American, Hire American” doctrine, it is too early to judge. Industry groups have voiced concerns it will raise costs, making it prohibitively expensive to build the new bridges and roads. The tech sector is worried Hire American policies will block or discourage high-skilled immigrants. The tourism industry is reporting a “Trump Slump,” because of the off-putting effect of the travel ban and its author.

One sector that has undoubtedly benefited from a Trump bump is the media. The New York Times and Washington Post have seen subscriptions soar. CNN, a network of which obituaries were being written only a few years ago, is enjoying a ratings windfall. Twitter, whose once stagnant user numbers have risen, is finally winning again.

Despite high-profile exits, Fox News remains the most influential news channel in America, if only because its breakfast show Fox and Friends is what Trump watches in the morning.

Overall, the response of the US journalistic community to Trump’s presidency has been to become more adversarial. Reporters like Jim Acosta, anchors like Jake Tapper, and even mild-mannered Wolf Blitzer have adopted a more hard-edged approach. The New York Times has replaced bland headlines with more judgmental wording.

Elsewhere, cultural lines are being blurred, an inevitable response perhaps to a president who turned politics in a new reality show genre. Comedians, faced with the dilemma of satirising a self-satirising White House, have adopted a more journalistic persona. John Oliver and Samantha Bee mix gags with serious reportage, much of it directed against Trump.

Stephen Colbert, who struggled at first as David Letterman’s successor after shedding his mock right-wing persona, may overtake apolitical Jimmy Fallon in the late-night ratings.

The mimicry of Alec Baldwin and the casting of Melissa McCarthy as Sean “Spicey” Spicer has once again made SNL appointment viewing.

Philip Roth’s The Plot Against America, which imagines as president Charles Lindbergh, the aviator who became the spokesman of the America First Committee in the early years of World War II, has also enjoyed a revival. Hulu is streaming a dramatisation of Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale, which imagines a totalitarian America.

On Broadway, a stage adaptation of 1984 is in the works.

Next month unveils the fifth season of House of Cards, but in the wake of accusations of Russian meddling, its plotlines, once considered so outlandish, now seem more run-of-the-mill, a case perhaps of life overtaking art.

There has long been two Americas, one that favours pick-up trucks over Prius hybrids, Walmart over Whole Foods, Duck Dynasty over This American Life. This age of Trump, as well as accentuating those divisions, has brought with it new identifying markers.

Do you wear a scarlet Make America Great Again baseball cap or a pink woollen hat? Would you buy an Ivanka Trump dress? Do you agree with Alex Jones, the host of the far-right Infowars, or Van Jones, CNN’s leading pundit? Or, more simply, do you have faith in the president? Increasingly, how you respond to Trump determines which America you inhabit.

Many Rust Belt voters continue to adore Trump because liberals hate him so. They voted for the billionaire partly to punch sneering bicoastal liberals in the nose. They are enjoying the sight of elite blood being shed in such quantities.

Because of the shadow cast by the Russian allegations, these first 100 days have sometimes felt like the final days of an ailing administration. Trump is routinely cast as a modern-day Richard Nixon. Yet while it is difficult sometimes to see how this administration can remain viable in its present form, it is harder to imagine how it would be brought to a premature end.

Barring some catastrophic revelation emerging from the FBI’s investigation into Team Trump’s alleged links with the Kremlin or some massive financial scandal, the Republican leadership is unlikely to move against him. In the unlikely event that it launched impeachment proceedings, here the constitution is his friend.

It is hard to dislodge an incumbent president.

The Founding Fathers, who came up with a governing model that has constrained Trump, also came up with an electoral model, the Electoral College, which has already helped him and may do so again. That will be true if the Rust Belt remains a stronghold.

The Founding Fathers, who came up with a governing model that has constrained Trump, also came up with an electoral model, the Electoral College, which has already helped him and may do so again. That will be true if the Rust Belt remains a stronghold.

The overwhelming sense, based on the popular vote in November and opinion polls since, is that more Americans are anti-Trump than pro.

But the sense also is that many blue-collar battlers remain fiercely loyal. So to write him off would be to repeat the same analytical mistake commentators have made since he first announced for the presidency, that of underestimation.

For while Liberals regard their new president as a national embarrassment, most of his supporters continue to view him as a potential national saviour.

One hundred days into a presidency the like of which this country has never seen before, the state of the union is disunion, and the battle continues.

The Lying Liberal Press Has Been Spreading #FakeNews About The Cost Of The MOAB. Surprised?

The giant bomb U.S. forces dropped Thursday on an ISIS training camp in Afghanistan did not cost $314 million to develop, or $16 million per unit as reported by multiple news outlets. Far from it, barely a fraction of that.

The bomb U.S. forced dropped Thursday on an ISIS training camp in Afghanistan cost U.S. taxpayers an estimated $170,000 per unit in 2003, but the Pentagon does not have an exact cost, according to an Air Force statement.

The Air Force’s cost estimate for the MOAB — the largest non-nuclear bomb ever detonated in combat — includes parts, labor, and contracted components, according to “an estimate put together at the time” MOAB was produced, Air Force spokeswoman Ann Stefanek told The Daily Caller News Foundation. The first MOAB bomb was made leading up to the Iraq war in 2003, and $170,000 spent that year would be closer to $227,000 today, adjusting for inflation.

Multiple news outlets reported Thursday that each Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB), or Mother of All Bombs, bomb cost $16 million, with a total program cost of $314 million. Those figures were likely gleaned from a misreading of an Los Angeles Times article about a different bomb, and a questionable military asset website, The DCNF reported Thursday.

Every news report about cost of the “Mother of All Bombs” relied on a misreading of a 2011 article or a dubious internet website that InfoWars once linked to with a “healthy bit of skepticism.”

The actual cost of the bomb is unknown. The actual cost of the program isn’t publicly available because the Mother of All Bombs, officially known as GBU-43 or the Massive Ordinance Air Blast (MOAB), is manufactured by the military and not a private defense company.

In fact, the Air Force doesn’t even keep track of the per unit cost, nor the cost of the program as a whole, because it is not manufactured privately.

“We don’t have a cost per unit” for the MOAB, Air Force spokesperson Ann Stefanek told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “These munitions were produced in-house so we don’t have a standard procurement cost associated with them.”

The Air Force mostly used existing technologies and hardware for the first MOAB prototypes and never contracted out the full production of the bomb, so they did not need to itemize and add the cost of each weapon component, Stefanek told TheDCNF.

Many reports Thursday, including USA Today, the Washington ExaminerCNBC and others, claimed the MOAB cost $314 million to develop, citing a 2011 Los Angeles Times report.

The cost estimates in that article, however, only refer to the cost of the Air Force’s biggest bunker busting bomb, the 5,300 pound Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), or GBU-57, which is built by private defense contractor Boeing Company. “At a total cost of about $314 million, the military has developed and ordered 20 of the GPS-guided bombs, called Massive Ordnance Penetrators,” the LA Times report says.

(Via AP) A strike by the largest non-nuclear weapon ever used in combat by the U.S. military killed 36 Islamic State group militants and left no civilian casualties, hitting a tunnel complex in the remote mountains of eastern Afghanistan, Afghan officials said Friday.

While the two bomb types are related, they serve different functions — the MOP is designed to destroy underground bunkers as deep as 200 feet below the surface, while the MOAP crushes everything on the surface within a wide radius. The MOAB, like its Daisy Cutter predecessor, can only be dropped out of a C-130 built by Lockheed Martin, and the MOP is deployed from the B-2, a Northrop Grumman aircraft.

Many news organizations, including TIME and CNBC, also cited Deagel.com, a site with extensive lists of weapons assets owned by multiple countries, which claims the MOAB costs $16 million per unit, the same amount as the reported cost of the MOP.

Deagel links to no source to verify its information. The site’s IP is registered to an address in Spain, and the most press they’ve received was for a 2015 prediction that the U.S. population would drop by more than 80 percent by 2025 due to an economic and cultural collapse. “The American collapse is set to be far worse than the Soviet Union’s one [sic],” the forecast said.

InfoWars wrote this disclaimer when it wrote up Deagel’s report: “…we publish this report with some hesitation and a healthy bit of skepticism, yet find it compelling enough given the current global environment that it may be of interest to readers.”

The Air Force did award at least one contract in the development of the bomb to Dynetics, a defense contractor headquartered in Huntsville, Ala., for design of the bomb’s guidance system for the relatively low sum of $35,000.

The MOAB replaced the Vietnam-era bomb known as the “Daisy Cutter,” but is far more powerful and boasts greater navigation capabilities than its predecessor.

Like the Daisy Cutter, the MOAB delivers a pressurized blast a few feet off the ground that crushes everything in a wide radius.

“What it does is basically suck out all of the oxygen and lights the air on fire,” Bill Roggio, senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told Air Force Times. “It’s a way to get into areas where conventional bombs can’t reach.”

The Air Force Research Laboratory ordered design concepts for “a 21,000-pound weapon system called the Massive Ordnance Air Blast” in April 2002, according to a 2014 report Dynetics delivered to the Senate Committee on Appropriations.

Dynetics then partnered with the Air Force to build and test three prototypes of the MOAB on March 11, 2003. Anyone within 20 miles of Eglin Air Force Base in Florida that day would have been able to see a giant mushroom cloud on the horizon at 1 p.m.

Dynetics partnered with the Air Force laboratory to build three prototypes of the MOAB, one of which was tested on March 11, 2003. Anyone within 20 miles of Eglin Air Force Base in Florida that day would have been able to see a giant mushroom cloud on the horizon at 1 p.m. The Air Force conducted a second test later that year.

After the test, the Pentagon ordered the bombs, and Dynetics helped produce “more than 10 weapons and delivered them between April and May,” rapidly turning around the weapon just nine weeks after the first successful test.

The process happened so fast that technicians painted the MOAB John Deere green because that was “the only color available in the amount we needed,”said Robert Hammack, AFRL Munitions Directorate Munitions Fabrication Facility.

“Every technical glitch or roadblock we encountered was worked out,” Robert Hammack, who lead the design team for AFRL, said in an Air Force post about the history of the MOAB. “Our team was filled with engineers and other people with deeply important skill sets necessary to pull this off.”

The fact that the bomb was never used during the Iraq war doesn’t mean they didn’t have an effect, according to the Air Force. “The most amazing thing about MOAB is it’s the most powerful bomb ever built and has done its job — deterring the enemy — simply because they know about it,” Hammack said.

Condition Red in North Korea? Kim Jong-Un Orders ‘IMMEDIATE EVACUATION of Pyongyang’ – PRAVDA

Russia and Asian media are reporting that the North Korean capital of Pyongyang is being evacuated ahead of a “big surprise” on Saturday.

Nearly everyone is interpreting that to mean North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is planning to do something that will spark war with the United States.

According to South Korean media, residents in the kingdom have said goodbye to each other, sparking concerns the tyrannical leader could be about to act after months of nuclear weapon testing.

From Pravda (translated):

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un gave the order, according to which, 25% of North Korea’s capital Pyongyang must urgently leave.

That is 600 thousand people need to be evacuated. Experts note that it is likely this is due to the extremely heightened tensions with the United States. There is information that the bomb shelter Pyongyang will not be able to accommodate the entire population of the capital. As a result, 600,000 people urgently need to leave the city – first of all people to break the law, tried.

Receive information and that a grouping of the US Navy, unfolding off the coast of Korea, joined at least one modified missile like “Ohio” bearing type “Tomahawk” missiles 154. According to media reports, the missile is expected to arrive in the port of registry for 18 of April.

Meanwhile, according to the South Korean newspaper, prewar farewell began in North Korea. North Korean residents say goodbye “to each other, the house, the native plant or enterprise, forest, field, sky, river and the sea, the mountains.” But say goodbye to the security forces, party or mentioned in the Word farewell leadership of the country is prohibited.

Recall that at the weekend through Chinese social media circulated reports that the auxiliaries and doctors sent to the border of North Korea.

Widespread picture, which shows the chain of military trains moving around Shenyana– city, located about 200 miles from the North Korean border.

About 150,000 Chinese military were mobilized in anticipation of North Korean refugees escape from the country in case of a US airstrike.

Lieutenant General H. R. McMaster, in turn, said that his commander in chief ordered the direction of the US carrier strike group to the region. McMaster said the decision to move US Navy ships in the Sea of Japan, “reasonable”, given North Korea’s “provocative behavior model.”

Speaking to Fox News, McMaster said: “The president has asked (us) to be prepared and to provide him with a full range of options to eliminate this threat.”

Recall that North Korea has condemned the attack Trump in Syria, calling it an act of “intolerable aggression”.

By the way, the news of the transfer of Chinese troops have managed to scatter on the media. RIA “News”, for example, it denied. China also denied information on the transfer of 150 thousand soldiers to the border of North Korea.

Earlier expert Aydin Mehdiyev said next aggravation of the situation may occur on April 15, when North Korea could conduct another test an intercontinental ballistic missile.”

However, a well-known Russian orientalist , Professor Andrei Lankov, who for many years worked in Seoul, warns that if the United States will cause a military attack on the facilities of North Korea, back Pyongyang could directly endanger the lives of 25 million residents of Seoul, which is located on the border of North and south. “In this case, a new Korean war is inevitable,” – he warns.

A tweet from Channel NewsAsia’s Beijing Correspondent Jeremy Koh said: “We’ve been told to be ready to move out at 6.20am, but no idea why. Also, no cell phones allowed.”

More than 200 foreign journalists are in Pyongyang as the country marks the 105th birthday of its founding president Kim Il Sung on April 15.

Foreign reporters have been told to prepare for a “big and important event” on North Korea’s biggest national celebration, called ‘Day of the Sun’.

Hundreds of journalists from around the world are in Pyongyang at present, and they have been told to get ready for a MAJOR event this weekend.

Folks, it looks like this is really happening. The North Korean leadership is just that INSANE.

Thank God we have a REAL leader in charge to handle the situation.
