No, it is not Ben Carson, Sarah Palin, or even Newt Gingrich. After a lot of speculation about who could possibly compliment Donald Trump come election time, the cream of the crop has risen to the top and trust me, you will not be disappointed.
Are you familiar with Joni Ernst, the freshman senator from Iowa who is now being called Trump’s best shot of taking the White House?
If you are, then you know already that Joni was lieutenant colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard and was deployed to Kuwait during the Iraq War.
However, military experience is just one of the amazing assets she can contribute to the Trump campaign.Joni is also capable of reach out to women and blue collar southerners in a way that both contrasts and compliments Donald, as a Manhattan billionaire, perfectly.
Hell, her Iowa campaign tagline was: “I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm. So when I get to Washington, I’ll know how to cut pork.”
Joni is also an avid bike enthusiast, have ridden since she was eleven.
She led a parade of hundreds of motorcyclists in the inaugural Roast and Ride fundraiser, from the Harley Davidson dealership in Des Moines to the rural town of Boone, where an enormous flag hung from a fire truck rippled in the strong wind.
If that is not enough, she has already been gaining support from both sides of the aisle, with Senator McCain saying:
“I think Joni Ernst would be tremendous. She’s really remarkable.”
Hell, even CNN’s liberal anchor Dana Bash said,
“She seems nice. Not New Jersey nice or California nice, but Iowa nice, which anyone who has ever stepped foot in Iowa knows is really, really nice.”
“She is a very well-respected person that I think can work with the other people in Congress, but she also has a background of having served in county government, having served in state government,” Branstad said, according to the Des Moines Register. “She certainly was a team player that we enjoyed working with here in the state of Iowa. So I think that if you want to put together an ideal profile of somebody who would be a great vice presidential candidate, she would be helpful to Republicans in Iowa, as well.”
Joni Ernst is rapidly rising to the top of the list of potential running mates for presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump — but she says she’s paying no attention.
When asked about the possibility of being considered a candidate for vice president, Ernst laughed, but didn’t reject the notion outright.
“Well, I think that’s — that’s nice,” she said. “Did my mother pay you to say that?”
“I’m just focusing on Iowa right now,” Ernst said in a brief interview with POLITICO at the Capitol, declining to rule out the option. “That is my concern.”
Ernst gained attention during her run for Senate with an advertisement in which she outlined having castrated hogs while growing up on a farm. The U.S. military veteran was selected to give the GOP’s response to President Obama’s State of the Union address. Ernst delivered the response without issue and she did it wearing camo-heels.
Sounds like Donald Trump may have found himself a real winner. Maybe a little public approval could tip the scale for her.
If so, Joni, welcome aboard the TRUMP TRAIN!
