After deadly blaze in Romania: A look at some of the world’s worst nightclub fires.

LONDON – A deadly fire at the Colectiv nightclub in the Romanian capital Bucharest has claimed at least 27 lives and left around 180 people injured. Dave Kane and other parents who lost children in the Station fire say they’re disappointed nightclub owners and concert promoters apparently are still ignoring basic fire safety and putting profit ahead of patrons’ lives.

Survivors and families of victims of a deadly nightclub blaze in Rhode Island over a decade ago say the tragedy in Bucharest, Romania, is sadly and eerily similar. Investigators said soundproofing foam on the ceiling caught fire and released poisonous gasses that quickly killed those attending a university party.

Club owner Omar Chaban was sentenced to 20 years in prison for causing the deadly fire and for bribery. The fire at what had been one of Boston’s foremost nightspots led to new requirements for sprinkler systems and accessible exits.

Here is a look at some other nightclub fires that have exacted terrible death tolls in crowded conditions:

– January, 2013: A fire killed more than 200 people at the Kiss nightclub in the city of Santa Maria in southern Brazil. Investigators said soundproofing foam on the ceiling caught fire and released poisonous gasses that quickly killed those attending a university party.

– December, 2009: Some 152 people died when a blaze broke out at the Lame Horse nightclub in Perm, Russia. It started when an indoor fireworks display ignited a plastic ceiling decorated with branches.

– December, 2004: In Buenos Aires, Argentina, a fire killed 194 people at the crowded Cromagnon Republic club after a flare ignited ceiling foam. Club owner Omar Chaban was sentenced to 20 years in prison for causing the deadly fire and for bribery. Others received lighter sentences.ARGENTINA FIRE ANNIVERSARY

– February, 2003: A fire at the Station nightclub in Warwick, Rhode Island, in the United States, killed 100 people and injured more than 200 others. Fireworks being used by the band set fire to flammable foam inside the club.Nightclub Fire

– March, 1990: An arson attack at the Happy Land nightclub in the Bronx borough of New York City killed 87 people. It started when a man angry with his girlfriend threw gasoline on the club’s only exit and set it on fire, then jammed down the metal front gate so people were trapped.Happy Land Fire Anniversary

– May, 1977: A fire at the Beverly Hills Supper Club in Southgate, Kentucky in America killed 165 people and injured more than Supper Club Fire Investigation

Students Continue to Rally Support of Officer Ben Fields – #BringBackFields

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A group of Spring Valley High School students walked out of class Friday morning, peacefully protesting the firing of school-resource officer Ben Fields.

Fields, a Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputy, was fired Wednesday after video surfaced of him forcibly removing a Spring Valley student from a classroom Monday.

“They said, ‘Bring back Fields.’ Everybody was saying that,” Spring Valley senior Ty’Juan Fulton, 18, said of the former deputy.

Students sent photos and videos of their walkout in support of Fields to News19 through social media accounts.

In those postings, some students could be seen wearing makeshift shirts with Fields’ name on it, and saying statements in support of the officer, including “Free Fields” and “Bring Back Fields.” Some students had originally said their intent was to walk out of the building, but the students did not leave the campus.

Senior London Harrell was one of the supporters for Fields. She said she wanted her voice to be heard.

“We just want to show that we’re still supporting him and everything and that he’s still a good guy, and everything and we don’t want his reputation to be ruined because of something that happened on Monday,” Harrell said.

Fields also was a coach for the Spring Valley football team.

A racially diverse group of students gathered in Spring Valley’s atrium about 10 a.m. Friday to express their opinions about Fields’ firing, which followed Sheriff Leon Lott’s condemnation of the deputy’s actions.

The protest was “an orderly student-led activity,” Spring Valley principal Jeff Temoney said in an email. “Our students and our staff were safe.

“I addressed the students to let them know that we understood their need to make their voices heard,” Temoney said. “Then, I reminded them that Spring Valley High is all about the business of teaching and learning, so it’s time to go back to class.”

The protest lasted about 10 minutes. But it brought more national attention to the high school, as Richland 2 school district leaders await the outcome of a civil-rights investigation into Monday’s incident.

Fields is white, and the student he removed from the class and arrested is African-American.

An advocacy group for black parents said Friday it plans to continue to pressure the district to improve its policies dealing with how school-resource officers interact with students.

Speaking in Tennessee, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan also mentioned the civil-rights investigation Friday.

“This week, we’ve been forced to again confront how far we still have left to go in the struggle for true equality,” Duncan said, adding, “If we want to maintain the trust of parents and communities in our schools, we must start by treating our children with respect and human dignity.”

However, for some Spring Valley High seniors on break for lunch Friday, the incident has led to more questions as they expressed concern for the former deputy, who they called “Coach Fields.”

DeJuan Lino, 18, said Friday that he wanted to show his support for Fields, hopeful the fired deputy would be able to get another job soon.

Fulton called Fields a “nice guy,” terming Monday’s incident a “misunderstanding.”

“He didn’t have to take it that far, but (the student) should have listened at the same time,” when she was asked to leave the classroom, he said.

Several videos of the walkout surfaced on Twitter shortly after the protest, using hashtags of “#bringbackfields” and “#bringfieldsback,” which some students had written in marker on their shirts.

Reginald Seabrooks who shot the third video wrote in the video description on Youtube, “The officer in this is a cool dude, he is not Racist!!!. Girl was asked her to put the phone away, but told teacher no and Administrator was called and asked her to come to his office. She told him no,he then called the resource officer. When he got there he asked her nicely to get up.Over and over he did nothing wrong. They asked her to get up but she wanted to show off. To some it looks bad but she wanted to prove that she was bad.”

Four Dead, Including Gunman in Colorado Springs – Police Still Searching For The Evil Gun – Developing Story

Four Dead, Including Suspected Gunman, After Shooting Spree in Colorado Springs
Oct. 31, 2015

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Four people are dead, including a suspected gunman, following a shooting spree in Colorado Springs on Saturday that ended in a gun battle between police and the suspect.

Lt. Catherine Buckley said officers were responding to a report of shots being fired when they spotted a suspect matching the description of the person they were trying to find. Buckley said the suspect opened fire, and police fired back.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene as the suspect went down the street with a rifle.

The Colorado Springs Gazette interviewed Aaron Nicks who said he saw police shoot at the suspected gunman:

Matt Abshire, 21, told the Colorado Springs Gazette he looked outside his apartment window and saw a man shoot someone with a rifle. Abshire said he ran to the street and followed the man and called police.

The man suddenly turned and fired more shots, hitting two women, Abshire said. Their names and conditions were not available.

Alisha Jaynes told KKTV-TV she was at an ATM when she saw a man with a gun walking calmly down the street.

“They yelled, ‘Put the gun down,’ and he turned around, and that’s when they shot at him a good 20 times,” she said. “There was a lot of gunfire.”

Buckley said the crime scene covered several major downtown streets. Those streets were shut down most of the day while investigators tried to figure out what happened.

Buckley said the investigation of the police shooting has been turned over to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

El Paso County sheriff’s spokeswoman Jacqueline Kirby said there are at least three crime scenes.

EPIC RANT! Watch it to believe it!

This epic rant was released a few months ago, just after the four Marines were killed in Chattanooga, TN, and Tomi Lahren is the young, articulate news anchor delivering it.  Saying what so many of us thought then, and continue to think today…

Shocking LEO Confrontation With an Armed Black Man in a Hoodie – You Won’t Believe It!

So, I’m driving to my office to turn in my weekly paperwork. A headlight is out. I see a Tucson Police Department squad vehicle turn around and follow me. I’m already preparing for the stop.

The lights go on and I pull over. The officer asks me how I’m doing, and then asks if I have any weapons.

“Yes, sir. I’m a concealed carry permit holder and my weapon is located on my right hip. My wallet is in my back-right pocket.”

The officer explains for his safety and mine, he needs to disarm me for the stop. I understand, and I unlock the vehicle. I explain that I’m running a 7TS ALS holster but from the angle, the second officer can’t unholster it. Lead officer asks me to step out, and I do so slowly. Officer relieves me of my Glock and compliments the X300U I’m running on it. He also sees my military ID and I tell him I’m with the National Guard.

Lead officer points out my registration card is out of date but he knows my registration is up to date. He goes back to run my license. I know he’s got me on at least two infractions. I’m thinking of how to pay them.

Officers return with my Glock in an evidence back, locked and cleared. “Because you were cool with us and didn’t give us grief, I’m just going to leave it at a verbal warning. Get that headlight fixed as soon as possible.”

I smile. “Thank you, sir.”

I’m a black man wearing a hoodie and strapped. According to certain social movements, I shouldn’t be alive right now because the police are allegedly out to kill minorities.

Maybe…just maybe…that notion is bunk.

Maybe if you treat police officers with respect, they will do the same to you.

Police officers are people, too. By far and large, most are good people and they’re not out to get you.

I’d like to thank those two officers and TPD in general for another professional contact.

We talk so much about the bad apples who shouldn’t be wearing a badge. I’d like to spread the word about an example of men who earned their badges and exemplify what that badge stands for.

Again, I’d like to thank the TPD and their officers for their consistent professionalism, courtesy, and the good work that they do, both in this particular contact and every day.]

Video: Student Body Slams Teacher Over Cell Phone – WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?

  1. As the overblown story of the “innocent young girl” being “attacked” by policeman BRAIN EXPLODES Liberals all over America and storms the social networks and news, this story of a New Jersey high school student who attacked his teacher over in-class phone usage rules 9 MONTHS AGO seems to have been ignored as no-big-deal after the incident.
Aggravated assault charges were filed against the black high school student who attacked his 62-year-old white teacher in a dispute over a cellphone.

The incident occurred Tuesday at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson, when the teacher allegedly confiscated a phone from a student.

The phone’s owner, another youth identified only as a 16-year-old boy, soon tried to get the phone back.

Authorities say the boy allegedly wrapped his arms around the teacher and knocked him into an empty desk, smacked his head against a file cabinet, then threw him to the ground in front of other students in an attempt to retrieve a cell phone that the teacher had taken away.

The attack, which took place during a physics class at approximately 1 p.m. Tuesday, was filmed by another person in the classroom and uploaded to YouTube later that day.

The 23-second-long video was up for a few days before it was taken down by YouTube Nazis.

Another was put up under private links and still remains…

“Police found the juvenile and arrested him,” said Rodriguez to The Paterson Press, noting that they boy was charged with third-degree aggravated assault.

According to Paterson city school district spokesperson Terry Corallo, the boy is now suspended from school but will be receiving home instruction while awaiting a disciplinary hearing to determine “an appropriate, educational placement” for the rest of his school year.

While many are indeed shocked and disgusted by the student’s behavior, some are also placing blame on teachers, parents, and modern school systems for failing to discipline students effectively.

Spring Valley: New Video Surfaces, Changes The Context of The Incident…

Opinion: Steven Crowder

Damn twitter, still never waiting for context or evidence before convicting by public opinion, huh?

Does the video look bad? Of course. It’s an adult cop vs a teenage girl. It’s also an adult cop who has been routinely rewarded for the work he has done in the past.

Firstly, this is based on false premise. Not the least of which is that there was an incredible amount of “force” used against a girl. Secondly, that no use of whatever force used could be justified. Thirdly, this completely disregards any possible escalation that could have happened before a short, 15 second clip. I’m not saying this cop was right, but I certainly don’t think he can be unilaterally condemned from a 15 second clip.

Also, as anyone who’s practiced combat sports for years knows quite well, the most effective force to be used against oneself is that generated by… oneself. That’s what “Jiujitsu” is. That’s what cops are often taught. The initial story was that the cop put this girl in a “chokehold” and threw her across the room. But that desk flipping happened so quickly, so effortlessly, that anyone with an understanding of leverage and physics has a right to be skeptical.

Enter the new video from another angle that many people are saying completely changes the story and justifies the officer’s actions.

In this new video, the female suspect can be seen kicking and actually punching the police officer as he attempts to stand her up. He then escalates his actions following the assault.

The girl in the video was asked to leave the school by a teacher and then by an administrator. After she refused to do so, the school resource officer, identified as Deputy Ben Fields, came to the classroom, and that’s apparently where the original video starts.

The situation leading up to the student being asked to leave is still in question. The student was ultimately arrested and charged with disturbing a school. She was released to her parent’s custody a short time later.

As you can see, the cop never applied a chokehold. A headlock- or any kind of head-control does not equal a chokehold. To subdue any person, you’ve got to control either the head, or the hips. Here we see him trying to control her head, but more importantly, contrary to the initial accusations, he did NOT flip her desk. See his hand? It’s on her pant-leg.

That’s pivotal. For two reasons. 1) A pant-leg grab is non-lethal, non-painful and purely a hold used for control. Namely when being kicked. 2) It means that he did not grab her desk and throw it with her in it. He was clearly trying to pull her out of her desk. As a matter of fact, once his hand grabs her pant-leg, it NEVER LEAVES. Again, once his hand grabs her pant-leg, it NEVER LEAVES. At no point does he let go to flip the desk.

Let’s look at the second image.

Okay, so right away we see that she’s punching a police officer. Which, is kind of a no-no. What else, she’s kicking her leg up and back? Why? Again, to try and free herself from the super-mean, evil pant-leg grab.

Ever leaned back to far on a chair and fall over in embarrassment? Now add the extra momentum of punching rabidly, while simultaneously kicking your leg up and back. That’s the kind of momentum that can very easily tip a desk over.

Does this mean the cop is right? Of course not. But we now have more facts. These facts have already changed the context. We should wait for the rest of them as well.

Allow me to present a brief timeline of what we have so far.

1.) Girl is disruptive in class. Teacher asks her to stop. Girl refuses.

2.) Teacher asks girl to leaves class. Girl refuses.

3.) Teacher calls down to the office, again asking girl to leave. Girl refuses.

4.) Office sends up “officer” who again asks girl to come with him. Girl refuses.

5.) Officer then tells girl that she needs to leave, or she will be forcefully removed. Girl refuses.

6.) Officer grabs girl to remove her from desk. She punches the officer and attempts to kick free, flipping her own desk.

7.) Officer drags her from the desk repeatedly asking her to put her hands behind her back. She continually refuses.

Twitter condemns him guilty of racist hate-crime. This is America.

Send your hate-tweets to @Scrowder and I’ll be sure to tell you why I don’t care.

Seventh Graders in Texas Taught That God is a Myth, No Other Options

Students and parents in Katy, Texas are upset after major test required students to renounce their faith in God to pass. religion has always been contentious between conservatives and liberals and for a very good reason. Liberals want to believe their is no hell because their support for abortions and libertine lifestyles would guaranty them a ringside seat at Satan’s homestead. On the other hand, conservatives are desperate to get into Heaven to assure that they will not have to put up with a single liberal for eternity. That clash came to a head at the Katy school.

The test the question was included in makes up 40% of the student’s grade. Jordan Wooley, a straight “A” student, refused to renounce God and even appeared before the school board and made her case for maintaining her belief in God.

“We were asked to take a poll to say whether God was fact, opinion or a myth, and she (the teacher) told anyone who said God was a fact or an opinion that they were wrong.”

“Another child had asked the teacher if we could try to put what we believe on the paper, and she said you can if you want to get it wrong.”

Superintendent Alton Frailey was supportive of Jordan and the other students at the school. It appears the question was written by the teacher herself since no other English class had the question about God on their finals. Fraily told Jordan:

“I’m truly sorry that you feel that your faith was questioned.”

“What’s going on is that the principal was made aware of this today and is going to have a chance to work on that as per district policies and procedures. We definitely will look into that. Thank you very much. It was very brave of you. Thank you, honey. Good job.”

The school district is defending the teacher and telling critics not to disparage her because they don’t know her or her Christian faith.

Terrorists Scream ‘Allahu Akbar,’ Fire Machine Guns at a Russian MiG – Then The Jet Turns Around…

Islamic militants with anti-aircraft guns around Mount Zawiya face off against a Russian MiG reportedly flown by a Syrian pilot.

They sprayed a ton of machine gun fire, and added several dozen “Allahu Akbars” for good measure. But it was a really bad idea, and they soon found out.

When the MiG turns around, it does not go well for the Muslim maniacs:

According to the video source, more than half the group’s gunmen were killed in the strike, with the remains fleeing into an ambush (boo hoo!).

Silly terrorists. I guess “Allah’s” just not that into you.

Aloha Snackbar!

Russian Air Force cuts off ISIS supply lines by bombing bridge over Euphrates.

Russia’s airplanes cut off routes used by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) to deliver supplies to Syria from Iraq by bombing a bridge over the Euphrates River.

“The bridge over the Euphrates River near [the Syrian city of] Deir ez-Zor was a key point of the logistics chain [of IS]. Today Russian pilots carried out a surgical strike against the object,” the deputy chief of the General Staff of Russia, Colonel General Andrey Kartapolov, said on Thursday during a news briefing, adding that the terrorist group’s armament and ammunition delivery route had been cut off.

Kartapolov also stressed that the strike was delivered in a region that, according to the US military, was fully controlled by IS militants. Since the beginning of the Russia’s operation in Syria, Moscow’s air forces have destroyed 819 IS targets in 934 sorties.
